EXHIBITIONS
Since 2021, I have been organizing and co-curating group exhibitions in Berlin with my artist collective, Artyshox. Each exhibition grows around a different theme, inviting fellow artists to share their own perspectives, stories and visual worlds.
For me, curating is about creating a space where artworks can meet, speak to each other and open new questions. Through exhibitions, we bring together different voices, mediums and atmospheres that feel alive, layered and connected.

THE ARTYSHOX YEARS
2021-2025
In 2021, a series of beautiful coincidences brought several artists together at a shared atelier (Atelier Äuglein) in Kreuzberg — and Artyshox Collective was born. We all believed art should be part of everyday life: accessible, inclusive and open to everyone. So we united our powers to create spaces to spread some art & inspiration around.
For almost five years we curated group exhibitions across Berlin, opened our calls to fellow artists, threw art nights and themed parties, designed event halls the Artyshox way — neon lights, bright fabrics, chatty meetings full of inspiration — and we published our own art magazine, 'SHOXX!'.
The Artyshox Collective is resting for now, as we all needed to focus more on our individual projects for some time. But we may come back with a new project any time soon!

What the Dream? What the Illusion? Aroused by reality or seduced by fiction?
What The Fact? dares to push perception to its limits, where truth trembles and the surreal seeps into the real. In a world flooded with glowing screens and infinite streams of information, the boundaries between fact and fiction are getting blurred beyond recognition. What we see, feel, and believe is shaped by memory, bias, and digital distortion.
Awake & Aroused: WTF teeters on the edge of this exquisite chaos, inviting artists to question and disrupt what is generally accepted as truth, so as to uncover its breaking point where perception twists and reality is laid bare. Through sensory overload, fractured narratives, and interactive illusions, artists provoke the ultimate WTF moment: a space where certainty dissolves, and all that’s left is the raw, electric charge of the vast unknown.

"Blurry Tales"

Inspired by the stark contrast between ancient and modern dreams and desires, our current group exhibition, Blurry Tales, seeks to approach the topic of fairy tales and urban stories from various artistic perspectives. Specifically, we focus on both the creation and the perception of legendary, mythological or contemporary storytelling.
As social and moral constructs evolve, traditions and values once perceived as immovable can be reinterpreted and reinvestigated.
Therefore, the objective of this exhibition is, ultimately, to ask ourselves and find out what lies beneath the stories perpetuated by popular culture and myths.

"Awake & Aroused"

In line with the Berlin artistic and cultural scenery, Awake & Aroused: Prologue took a multidisciplinary approach to illustrating individual awakening — be it daily or philosophical — and arousal — be it erotic, technological, or nature-related. Between these two poles, the exhibition covered topics of contemporary relevance: consciousness, colourfulness, excitement, kink, hunger, realism, escapism, and subversion.
Awakening and arousal are, after all, sibling states — the moment before attention, and the moment after it catches fire. The works approached them from every direction the collective knows: some quiet as a morning thought, some loud as appetite, moving between the philosophical and the bodily without ranking one above the other. In true Artyshox fashion, nothing here was meant to be observed politely from a distance — the exhibition asked its visitors to feel addressed, provoked, and perhaps a little awakened themselves.

Art redefines space. What happens when fine art enters a space already brimming with voice, gesture, and story? The Artyshox Collective and ImprovWorks Berlin invite the audience to take part in the convergence of visual and performing arts, hosted in the evocative setting of Haus Zwingli - a former church transformed into a vibrant improv theater stage in the heart of Berlin. In this unique architectural and cultural space, tradition meets experimentation, and static forms come alive alongside improvisation, sound, and movement.
This exhibition marks a new chapter of collaboration between the visual and performing arts. The walls and nooks of the venue - long home to theater audiences, students, and improvisers - now carry the visual language of the Artyshox Collective, enriching the space with color, texture, and narrative. Not as mere decoration, but as an ongoing presence: responsive, alive, and intertwined with the creative pulse of the stage.
"Ich & Wir / Me & Us"

The human experience is a complex interplay between the self (Ich) and the collective (Wir). In this exhibition, we delve into the intricate connections and dependencies between these two fundamental aspects of our existence.
The exhibition prompts us to contemplate the balance between our individual needs and desires and our obligations to others. How do our actions as individuals affect the collective, and how does the collective, in turn, shape our individual identities? These questions challenge us to consider our place in the world, and the intricate web of relationships that make us who we are.
Through a variety of media, from painting to sculpture, and to photography, we invite the audience to consider these questions and explore the dynamic relationship between the self and the collectiveness.
"Unity"

Creation. Destruction. Recreation.
Unity as a revolutionary act, as a philosophy, as a state of being. Is it a chaotic mass or a coherent combination of sets and pieces?
In this exhibition, where we celebrate our unity as a newly formed artist collective, we are looking for unique interpretations of the concept ‘unity’, in particular through the experiential connection and fragmentation of elements, forms, stories, figures, colours, and voices.
We invite viewers to join our mysterious expedition where we dive into archaic yet relevant themes, nature’s creative and destructive forces, and fragments of our collective human mind.
"Layers of Them"

All things are made of layers coming together: as humans, we are a combination of experiences, emotions, and thoughts. We reveal some and conceal the rest. How do we decide that?
The exhibited artworks make use of intricate layers, colours, faces, and figures to tell stories about what it takes to be, or better said, what the risks are of being bold, creative, and femme. Our aim is to demonstrate how everything requires and deserves a deeper look into the different layers that constitute us as visual artists and, above all, human beings. Especially because what we reveal or conceal eventually lies in the eye of the beholder and the surface is definitely worth cutting into.
‘Layers of them’ ultimately seeks answers even when not all the questions are clear. That’s why we invite our viewers to dive in, investigate, and discover the artistic identity's multiple dimensions as well as its truths and secrets that we oftentimes are unaware of.
"Magic of the Psyche"

As I remember it: my station on the town's art walk was an old stone building on a Bauernhof — once a metal workshop, still full of its past.
Dusty, rusted machines from another age stood in the shadows, and between them I built my exhibition: I transformed the room into a dark, weird, magic cave, my paintings glowing against old stone and iron. I didn't know it yet, but this was the first Magic Cave — three years before Psyche & the Magic Caves had a name, its two words were already side by side on this poster.
Inside, the room stayed cold even in August — old stone keeps its own weather. In the candlelight, I showed my Mystics and my magic masks of personas: painted faces watching from the walls between the machines, flickering half-alive whenever the flames moved. Visitors stepped in from the summer street and found themselves somewhere else entirely — which, I suppose, has been the whole idea ever since.
